Collecting, Guardianship and Legacy

To collect is to choose what deserves to remain. To become a guardian is to accept that the story continues beyond ownership.

01

An artwork is never only acquired.

A meaningful collection is not an accumulation of objects. It is a map of encounters, intuitions and decisions through which a person reveals what they chose to protect.

AILOVO calls its collectors guardians because every numbered piece belongs simultaneously to a private life and to a single artwork of one thousand identities.

02

Legacy is a living transmission.

What passes from one generation to another is not only property. It is also an example: how to desire, how to wait and how to complete what one begins.

The first AILOVO was entrusted to the artist’s son. In that gesture, the work declared its purpose: an object may carry a lesson when its story is lived rather than explained.

Ownership marks a moment. Guardianship creates continuity.

One artwork. One thousand guardians. Ten years.
